About ClickerExpo LIVE

ClickerExpo LIVE registration includes access to 50 courses PLUS access to all the conference course recordings for one year! Conference recordings are expected to be available within one week of the event.

You also have access to reserve up to 1 Spotlight Spot in Learning Labs (spots are limited). There is a $19.95 fee for Animal/Handler Spotlight Teams in Learning Labs; Spotlight Participant spots are complimentary.

Choosing Courses

Sessions are lecture-based with a presentation and often video examples. These courses are open-seating.

Learning Labs provide an opportunity to work with your dog or to observe others working with dogs under the tutelage of the ClickerExpo faculty. Dog and handler teams practice skills with observers playing different roles - whether taking data, coaching or just observing! These courses should be reserved during the registration process.

Many Learning Labs are based on concepts presented in a preceding Session, while others incorporate a presentation along with demonstrations and practical applications of the skills being taught. There are some Learning Labs for humans only. Be sure to read course descriptions fully.

Yes! We have five distinct course formats.

Dem-OH!

Learn about a training topic and watch it come to life! Live demonstrations from world-class trainers working with their animals or with colleagues’ animals from around the globe. Includes demonstrations, presentation, and audience Q&A.

Learning Lab

Participate from home alongside trainers and teachers and your animals! Practice the exercises with your own animals during designated working times or sign up for one of the limited Spotlight spots to also get coaching from the presenter(s) in view of the virtual audience. Includes audience Q&A and, usually, a presentation and a live demonstration, too!

Spotlight Spots (limited and require pre-registration):

Some Learning Labs are meant for you to work with your animal. Those Labs have limited Animal/Handler Spotlight Team spots ($19.95).
Others are meant to develop your skills and are for humans only. Those Labs have Spotlight Participants (complimentary).

ClickerExpo LIVE features 50 LIVE courses! Unless otherwise noted, the course is new!

There are a very limited number of LIVE 2023 courses that were also presented at LIVE in prior years. For these courses, the content will be similar but the training is LIVE so the experience will be unique—and you’ll likely learn something new!

There are even fewer courses that were presented originally at an in-person ClickerExpo conference and have been reimagined and reinvented for the LIVE environment. These courses feature “-LIVE!” in the title.

ClickerExpo LIVE registration includes access to all courses PLUS access to all the 2023 conference course recordings for one year.

There are limited Spotlight Spots in Learning Labs that require pre-registration to get coaching from the presenter(s) in view of the virtual audience. There is a maximum of 1 Spotlight Spot per registrant.

Some Learning Labs are meant for you to work with your animal. Those Labs have limited Animal/Handler Spotlight Team spots for $19.95.
Others are meant to develop your skills and are for humans only. Those Labs have Spotlight Participants (no charge).

Each registrant can reserve one Spotlight Spot in a Learning Lab to receive coaching from the presenter(s) in view of the virtual audience. (Please note that these spots are extremely limited.)

A great perk of our virtual Learning Labs is that even without a Spotlight Spot you can work with your animal off camera and participate in the exercises. You just won’t receive feedback from the instructor.

You will see that all Learning Lab descriptions have Spotlight Spot Prerequisites, which include animal/handler skills, equipment, and more that speakers will expect those that sign up for Spotlight Spots to have/have available during the Learning Lab. Please be sure to check the prerequisites before registering for a Spotlight Spot.

Since each Animal/Handler Spotlight Team and Spotlight Participant will appear on camera during ClickerExpo LIVE, there are additional expectations for those that sign up for Spotlight Spots. Animal/Handler Spotlight Teams or Spotlight Participants must agree to:

Be on camera in a well-lit room.
Have enough space to work comfortably while remaining visible to the ClickerExpo audience.
Have sufficient internet bandwidth to participate on camera.
Test your computer and equipment on your own prior to participating in this Lab.
Join the Learning Lab online 15 minutes before the start.

It is also recommended that those with Spotlight Spots have a wireless headset, as you will be working at a distance from your computer, and will need to be heard during the Learning Lab.

No. You can either register for an available Learning Lab or join the waitlist for one that is full.

Here's how the waitlist works:

As attendees change their schedules, spots open up.
When a spot opens up and you are on the waitlist, you will be notified by email in the order you joined the waitlist.
To add the Lab, see the question see Section 3: View/Modify Registration.
You will have 12 hours before the next person on the waitlist is notified. Details will be provided in the e-mail.

**Please Note: Being on the waitlist does not guarantee you the next available spot. When a spot opens up, you will be notified in the order you were waitlisted, and new registrants will be able to register, but only the first to do so will be added. One (1) week after you are notified, you will be removed from the waitlist if you have not chosen to register for the open spot. To observe a Learning Lab, reserve an observer spot for no additional cost.
To work with your dog in a Learning Lab, reserve a dog & handler spot for $12.95.
There are Learning Labs designed specifically for humans (without their dogs). To participate in these, reserve a participant spot for no additional cost.
In some Learning Labs there may be a need for demonstration volunteers. To volunteer your dog to be handled by a speaker and/or lab coach in a Lab demonstration, reserve a Demo Volunteer spot for no additional cost.

Yes. If the Lab you want is full, you can place your name on the waitlist and also select another Lab that is open. Here's how it works:

As attendees change their schedules, spots open up.

To add the Lab, see the question see Section 3: View/Modify Registration.
You will have 24 hours before the next person on the waitlist is notified. Details will be provided in the e-mail.

The options for Labs are:

Observer — you are going to the Lab to watch only. If you have a service dog or a small dog that fits under your seat, you may bring the dog with you, but you should not work with your dog during the Lab.
Dog & Handler — you will be bringing a dog with you and you will be working with your dog during the Lab. See participant notes in individual course descriptions for a more detailed understanding of the skills required and activities planned for each Lab.
Demo Volunteer - you are going to the Lab to watch only and volunteer your dog to be handled by a speaker and/or lab coach in a Lab demonstration.

Service dogs are always welcome.

You will see that Learning Labs frequently list another course as a "prerequisite." To keep the Labs at the appropriate pace, speakers will assume that you have attended the prerequisite Session.

If You Are a Participant: If you intend to work with your dog in a Lab, you must attend the prerequisite Session. The Labs build on the material in the prerequisite Session; you would have a difficult time keeping up with the Learning Lab if you did not attend the prerequisite Session.
If You Are an Observer: If you are attending a Lab as an observer, we recommend that you attend the prerequisite Session as well, but it is not a requirement. As an observer who has not attended the prerequisite Session, please refrain from asking questions during the Lab. Those questions were likely answered in the prerequisite Session.

Participants in a Learning Lab may not skip the prerequisite Session. The purpose of the Lab is to put into practice concepts, skills, and ideas presented in the prerequisite course. The instructor will assume that you have been to the prerequisite Session and will conduct the Lab on that basis. Show that you respect other participants' time and get the most out of the Lab by attending the prerequisite Session.

If you are attending a Lab as an observer, we recommend that you attend the prerequisite Session as well, but it is not a requirement. As an observer who has not attended the prerequisite Session, please refrain from asking questions during the Lab. Experience has shown that those questions were likely answered in the prerequisite Session.

Please check to make sure you are using a credit card we accept (American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover).

View/ Modify/ Changing Your Registration

To view or change your registration:
- To view or change your record click here and click the “already registered” link under the registration button.
- Enter the name and email address used at registration.
- You will then receive a verification code to the mobile number submitted during the registration process.
  - If you did not enter a phone number during registration, the code will go to your email address.
- Enter the verification code to access your registration.
You may make changes to your record up until Tuesday, December 27, 2022.

If you make a change to your registration record (such as adding a lab), you will receive an e-mail confirmation.
If you don't get a confirmation e-mail, it may mean the change did not go through. You will need to check your record and, possibly, make the change again.
Please be sure to confirm the change at the bottom of the page every time a change is made.

You can log into your registration to review your selections at any time. We encourage you to not wait to check your registration.

If circumstances change so that you cannot attend ClickerExpo LIVE, keeping your registration is a wise investment in yourself! With access to all of the conference course recordings for one year included in your registration, you’ll have instruction from top trainers at your fingertips.

However, sometimes financial complexities make canceling a necessity. Here are the options:

• Cancel by Tuesday, November 29, for a full refund less a $29 processing fee.
• Cancel by Tuesday, December 27, for a full refund less a $59 processing fee.
• After those deadlines, no refunds will be issued, but you will still receive access to all conference recordings!

All cancellation requests must be processed through your ClickerExpo LIVE registration link. To log into your registration, follow the instructions under “I want to change my record. Can I do that myself online, or does someone have to do it for me?” above. Transfers to another person will not be offered for this event.

If you registered for ClickerExpo Washington, DC, before November 30, 2021, your registration included complimentary access to ClickerExpo LIVE. If you registered for ClickerExpo Washington, DC, on or after December 1, 2021, you may have opted to add ClickerExpo LIVE to your registration for an additional fee. In either of these instances:

If you cancel your Washington, DC, registration by January 17, 2022, we will also cancel your registration for ClickerExpo LIVE. If you would still like to attend the virtual event, you will need to re-register and submit payment. The conference rate in effect at the time of your new registration will apply.
If you cancel your Washington, DC, registration between January 18 and March 3, 2022, you will receive a 50% refund on your Washington, DC, registration. You will retain your year of access to the ClickerExpo LIVE conference course recordings.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

ClickerExpo LIVE has received CEU accreditation from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT), International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC), and Karen Pryor Academy (KPA).

Attendees may earn 2 CEUs per course attended or recording watched; please check with your certifying body for the maximum number of CEUs you may apply towards recertification.

ClickerExpo LIVE has also received CEU accreditation from the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (RACE)!

Veterinarians and Vet Techs: 24 CEUs

Approved in subject matter categories of: Non-Medical Program using the delivery method of Lab/Wet Lab, Interactive-Distance. This approval is valid in jurisdictions that recognize AAVSB RACE approval.

*Please note that business and Bonus Time courses will not count towards the 24 RACE CEUs.

All participants will be muted upon entering courses. Please submit your questions via the Chat or Q&A feature. We will address as many as possible.

During Bonus Time, presenters may invite you to be on camera to ask your question. Please be sure to note in your question if you are not able to be or prefer not to be, on camera and a moderator will ask your question for you.

Please use the chat feature appropriately and refrain from private conversations in the public chat during a course.

Technical Issues/Concerns

You will need high-speed internet to watch the courses live. You can review Zoom’s internet bandwidth requirements here.

If for any reason, your internet is not sufficient during the live event, you’ll still have access to the planned recordings in your digital library after the conference. You can already test your system’s ability to stream the conference recordings by watching a free episode of Live from the Ranch on our Video on Demand site.

While we will certainly help you troubleshoot problems with the conference app and share resources available to help with our video conference platform, it’s important to recognize that we cannot control the quality of your internet at any given time, and it may be possible that you are unable to watch all or some of the events live.

If for any reason, your internet is not sufficient during the live event, you’ll still have access to the planned recordings in your digital library after the conference. While we deeply regret if any technological/internet issues occur, no refunds will be issued. While we are taking all precautions to avoid technological/internet challenges, there may be situations that happen that are outside of our control. By registering for this event, you acknowledge this risk, and waive any claim of a refund.

There is an inherent risk in presenting live from locations all over the world (including remote locations) and there is the possibility of any number of disruptions including but not limited to the following:

A presenter is unable to connect, and therefore the course is also unable to be presented or recorded;
An attendee can’t connect;
A course is interrupted or is unable to be completed, and is therefore also unable to be recorded;
The conference platform or the network that it relies on goes down;
Intermittent or unclear audio or video transmission;
The recording feature malfunctions;
And so on.

We are compiling resources to help you prepare technologically for the event. Please take some time to review the Prepare for ClickerExpo LIVE section of the FAQs to help alleviate some issues prior to the start of the event.

Write them down—that’s what the pages in the back of this program are for! You may find that your question is answered later in the Session. If not, ask your neighbors during lunch or break times—it’s a good way to make new friends. Many attendees are very sophisticated clicker trainers and can answer 19 out of 20 of the most burning questions you may have. Faculty members are often available for informal discussion in the halls and between Sessions.

Prepare for ClickerExpo LIVE

Yes! The conference platform is home base for all things ClickerExpo LIVE! It is where you can find links to the courses, more information about sponsors, the link to the virtual store, receive notifications, and so much more!

Access to the conference platform has been sent out to attendees by email. If you are registered for ClickerExpo LIVE and did not receive the email, please contact events@clickertraining.com.

We are excited to have ClickerExpo LIVE be a virtual learning experience like no other! To bring that experience to your home, we will be utilizing Zoom for all of our courses.

For each attendee to have the best possible experience, we recommend using the desktop client. You can download that here. While viewing ClickerExpo LIVE courses on a mobile device is possible, we highly recommend viewing on a computer/desktop for the best experience. Only use the web client if you can't access the other option.

To best utilize the Zoom platform and join ClickerExpo LIVE presentations, you will need to have a Zoom account.

To sign up for your own free account, visit zoom.us/signup and enter your email address. You will receive an email from Zoom (no-reply@zoom.us). In this email, click Activate Account.

So that we can best assist you during the event, please be sure the name and email used on your Zoom account are the same as your registration.

Zoom regularly provides new versions of Zoom in order to access new features and fix bugs. We recommend upgrading to the latest version when it is available to receive the best video and audio experience. You will be required to update Zoom to version 5.11.10 in order to access the courses. You can check which version you're currently running for video conferencing here. When you join a Zoom meeting, we ask that you turn your camera off so you do not appear on screen. Each attendee will be muted by default. Click here for more information on joining a Zoom meeting and configuring Audio & Video.

In some courses, like during Bonus Time, the moderator may request that you turn on your video and audio to ask your questions LIVE. If you do not wish to be on-screen or to appear in the recording, you may decline the request. You may also indicate when typing your question that you would like your question to be asked on your behalf.

For attendees participating in a Spotlight Spot in which you will be required to appear on camera and share audio, permissions will be given to you by the Zoom meeting host. Prior to the event, be sure to test your microphone, camera, lighting, and that you are fully visible on screen if working away from your computer.

By turning on your camera and /or audio for any reason, you understand that you will be video and audio recorded by our organization as part of the experience, and that recordings will be available following the event to attendees, offered for commercial sale or resale and used on our social channels, email, and/or website or those of our authorized partners and may be used for future event promotions. ClickerExpo and ClickerExpo LIVE is a wholly owned brand of Sunshine Books, Inc, (d/b/a Karen Pryor Clicker Training) which owns the sole and exclusive rights to all recordings or reproductions, publications, broadcasts or re-broadcast in whole or in part, of ClickerExpo and ClickerExpo LIVE. You hereby grant and authorize Sunshine Books, Inc. (d/b/a Karen Pryor Clicker Training, hereafter “KPCT”), the right to take, edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish, distribute and make use of any and all recordings, audio and video, taken of you at ClickerExpo to be used in and/or for any lawful purpose. This authorization extends to all languages, media, formats and markets now known or later discovered. This authorization shall continue indefinitely. You waive the right to inspect or approve any finished product in which my likeness appears. You have agreed to this release without being compensated. You waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of the recordings. You understand and agree that these recordings shall become the property of KPCT and will not be returned. You hereby hold harmless and release KPCT, its officers and employees, authorized contractors and authorized agents from all liability, petitions, and causes of action associated with ClickerExpo and connected with the taking, recording, digitizing, or sale or publication of computer images, video and/or sound recording which you, my heirs, representative, executors, administrators, or any other persons may make while acting on your behalf or on behalf of your estate.
