USE PATTERN GAMES TO BUILD YOUR DOG'S CONFIDENCE
Pattern games create a “safety net” of predictability that can help a worried dog process information about the environment from a place of confidence. In this video, Leslie McDevitt demonstrates how to empower a dog to direct their own counter-conditioning procedure using a start button behavior that can start or stop the pattern. In this case, the start button is looking up, which makes the handler move to the next bowl to deliver food reinforcement.
At ClickerExpo LIVE, join Leslie as she coaches Animal/Handler Spotlight teams through pattern games in her Learning Lab, Pattern Power: Learners Control the Game. Watch, ask questions, or even use this time to work on the exercises with your dog as you follow along from the comfort of your living room!
